Fans of Bonnie Raitt may be interested to know that Bo Diddley, one of the founding fathers of rock & roll and the popularizer of the world-famous "Bo Diddley beat", has announced that he will be launching his new website and online store this coming Thanksgiving. The website, which with typical idiosyncrasy he has named "Bo Bo Diddley's Turnup Root", is located at http://www.turnup-root.com/

In conjunction with his new website, Bo Diddley is currently also shaping up to release CDs of both brand new recordings as well as a series of exciting limited edition collectors' CDs of previously unreleased archive material recorded in his various home studios during the past 40 years. Right now, visitors to his website can shop online at Bo Diddley's Online Store powered by CafePress.com and purchase a range of cool-looking and exclusive limited edition items including T-shirts and sweatshirts.

For further information, please visit: "Bo Bo Diddley's Turnup Root" at http://www.turnup-root.com/

Hello!

I'm a singer located in Chicago interested in participating in the "Nashville Star" Competition http://www.usanetwork.com/specials/nashvillestar/. I've always dreamed of becoming a singer since I was a little girl. However, one of the requirements to enter is to have an original song written by the contestant or co-written by the contestant and a 2nd party or just by a 3rd party. The song must be copyrighted to prove the ownership of the song. My question to you is this: Is there any advice you could give to find a songwriter or anyone who could put me in contact with a serious songwriter looking to take a chance of perhaps getting their work seen and heard? If so, please contact me at dnoe@amli.com.

Thank you!

Diane Noe

Dear Bonnie, Although I am 55 yrs old I am just getting acquainted with you and your talent! I am so sorry I missed your concert here in Columbus, Oh last spring and am looking forward to your next visit. i just watched your performance on Austin city limits and wonder if there is anyway a fan can get a copy of that show on video? Also, i think you should make an album with Jimmy Buffet. The one song on your latest cd would be a perfect match with him. ramiller

hello mz Bonnie! I have been listening to you since your first album. I don't own much of your music, but admire and respect all that you have done over the years, including beating the addiction bug. Your music is incredible and I wish you would play at Santa Rosa CA, Luther Burbank Center of the Arts. Its a small yet wonderful theature. Melisa Ethridge was there recently. I thought how incredible it would be to see you up on that stage. A dream come true for this 50 year old guitarist/singer only with my friends and quiet cafe's. Please consider playing there.Thank you so much for continuing on with your music!!! You and your music are a true gift for all of us. take care, Andi Gletty

I went to see Bonnie Raitt at NextStage in Grand Prairie, Tx. She was fabulous as always. I did/do have a problem though. I purchased a t-shirt and when I got it home it had a cut in the sleeve. I am assuming that it was possibly from when they cut open the box. Anyway, I have been trying to find out if there is anyway that I can return it and get a replacement. I realize that i should have checked it out when I purchased it but I didn't. If there is anyway that you can help me get in touch with someone, I would geratly appreciate it. I purchased the faded blue w/green lettering that said Bonnie Raitt / Silver Lining, sixe medium. Again, anything that you could do to help, I would appreciate. Thank you, Christie Simpson, 312 Syracuse Place, Richardson, Texas 75081

Dear Ms. Raitt, I am am accomplished writer and artist although not in the music industry. I have a spectacular book that I started writing 4 years ago and it is near culmination. To synopsize: it has similar elements and is comparable to Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter (without the harshness), Watership Down but is totally different from these publications. It is an action book with elements of love, seeking a place in the world, caring, fighting evil as the world became unbalanced. The primary characters are cats.

I am in the process of writing a treatment and starting a video CD along with voice and musical accompaniment. I want you to be a character voice which would include singing also. The others to be involved are Justin Hayward (Moody Blues), Ian Anderson (Jethro Tull) and Kenny G. I am also trying to get in touch with Willie Nelson who was a neighbor of mine in Marina del Rey from when I lived on Quarterdeck St.

About me: After Fine Arts degree in 70s, I worked as a designer. Most of my career was spent in corp. communications, PR and marketing for large companies such as NME that constructed, opened and operated USC University Hosp., LA. I've worked on a number of charities with people such as Henry Mancini, Bob Hope, Barbara Bush, Robert Wagoner, Milton Berle. I am 52 years old and am now disabled due to physical illness but the mind keeps on truck'in.

I would really like to hear from you on this project because I love your music and your voice is perfect for one of the characters.

This is a serious effort and I am very much a professional with an execellent and timely book.

Please contact me at my e-mail address: Judizjas@aol.com. I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

JM (Initials for anonymity)

Dear Ms. Raitt,

I have a very important request....plea, actually. I have a very special love for a person I cannot be with. We have been friends for 25+ years and she is the most incredible woman I've ever know.

I have given her tickets to your concert in San Antonio on Tuesday, 5/28. The last time I got to see her, she played for me your beautiful song "Feels Like Home" and told me that the song is about her and I.

Please, Ms. Raitt, I know that you probably don't have this song in your repoitore (?) for this tour as you are promoting "Silver Lining." However, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity to give her something that will encourage this beautiful bond I have with her. It would mean so very much to me for you to sing the song that night. I am 47 and have just a few dreams left.....she is the most important one.

She has been an angel to me, that is what I call her. I could offer you something in return, but I don't know what that would be. You are a connection for "us" and I reach out for any connection I have.

I don't know if you will read this, don't know how to contact you, but if this is able to happen....I want to thank you in advance for making this special love offering to her in advance.

Thank you!

Tim

The Roy Process

New web site: http://members.cox.net/theroyprocess

TO: Bonnie Raitt,

Thank you for your anti Yucca Mt. stand. Below is a viable alternative. ********* In the first 50 years of the atomic age nuclear waste has already leaked out into our precious ground water at the Hanford nuclear reservation and is irretrievable. Solid medium burial of high level nuclear waste was tried at the Russian Ural Mountain waste dump, it exploded in 1957 heavily contaminating the area. Yucca Mountain is supposed to contain nuclear waste for 10,000 years. Safe and secure burial of high level nuclear waste for 486,000 years, 20 half-lives of plutonium 239, is a scientific impossibility. There is a viable alternative to geologic isolation. High level nuclear waste can be transmuted into non-radioactive elements using existing infrastructure, commercially available machinery and current supporting technology. In addition, as the treated isotope rapidly decays into a non-radioactive element, heat is produced which can power the existing electric generators at each nuclear power plant where nuclear waste is stored in cooling ponds. The late Dr. Roy estimated cost in 1979 at $80 million dollars to construct the Roy Process pilot facility and should take three years to build. There remains about a years work calculating engineering parameters for the pilot plant. Transmuting high level waste would also guarantee international security by eliminating bomb grade elements.

Sincerely Yours, Dennis F. Nester 602-494-9361 4510 E. Willow Ave. Phoenix,AZ 85032

HI Bonnie!

We'll be seeing you April 3rd in Milwaukee, WI and looking forward to your great concert. I gave my brother-in-law tickets to your concert for his 60th birthday as he is a hugh fan of yours. He would be in heaven if you could wish him, better yet, sing happy birthday to him. If so his name is Curt. This would make his evening and truly give him "something to talk about"

Thanks and we'll see you on the 3rd!

DEAR, BONNIE My name is Jim Glazier, from 4308 42 AVE. #20 Rock MTN.. House Alberta, Canada . And I need the help of someone with great influence over people and the resources to convince people they can protect there property. I am not trying to get a hand out, but perhaps some kind of business venture where we both can make money. I have been interested in vehicle security since 1997. I get sick when I hear of peoples property stolen , damaged , and even lives lost from such a preventable problem as car theft. I have looked at many vehicle security devices and there weakness, and endeavored to build a device that is easy to install and also user friendly, and very difficult to remove. I have built prototypes, and have used one on my vehicle for three years even in big cities, and always felt comfortable that my car would always be there where I parked it. I also installed one on an old truck in an auto wreaker and it took three big men 4min. 56 seconds to remove it, only by braking the floorboard because of too ridged a base. This has since been redesigned to be flexible. It was encouraging to see one person could not remove it. It is loose enough installed, that it cannot be cut with a hacksaw, since it is made with good strong steel. The lock cannot be frozen because it is incased with steel and a small air space. These men ! tried with hammers and feet to remove it and only exhausted themselves. Since joy rides and theft of vehicles for the purpose of committing a crime are the main reasons for general auto theft, I know this will be a very good and secure type of vehicle theft deterrent. I have a U.S. patent and applied for an international patent with the help of a company in Ireland, who have done up for me a confidential research report, on North America, and Europe and are at this time trying to find manufactures all around the world that would be interested in building this device that I call "Brake Lock. There is some simple electronics that serve as a trade mark, as well as takes care of the brake light problem. I recently have had interest from England and Illinois and hope to get a positive response from them. Auto theft is a huge problem everywhere. I know it will make a difference. But it will only make a difference if people will use it. If I could give you more information that might convince you, perhaps you may be interested in being a part of this venture. .P lease, if you want more information or have questions please get in touch with me at my E-Mail address ( cadillacjim @msn.com) Thank you, I look forward to hearing from you . PART OF ME

As I reach down to touch this precious gift of life that has been bestowed to me, my eyes fill with once unknown happy tears, for this child of mine is the most beautiful tresure that there is in my life.

For you are a part of me as much as I am a part of you.

The all seeing innocence of your child eyes stay with your heart even as you grew, for with every thing seen and leaned shows in the sparkling light in your eyes, making my own heart see and feel it anew.

For you are a part of me as much as I am a part of you.

The small clumsy hands that broke and spilled oh so many things, ruff and as strong as can be for your youth, when touching my face was so gentle and kind that it gentlely touched my heart.

For you are apart of me as much as I am a part of you.

For you are part of my mind, heart, and life, for when you cry it hurts my heart, and when you laugh it brightens my day, and when you sleep I thank the heavens for the most beautiful tresure in my life.

For with you here in my life or grown and on your own, you will always be part of me as much as I am a part of you. This is a poem that a client of mine has written and would like you to consider for setting to music. He has many and if you like this one we have many more.

Dear Ms. Raitt, We all watched in horror and grief as our world changed from a reasonably safe place to a place of terror. We gathered. In large and small circles and churches and some even alone. We gathered to pray and grieve and find safe haven for our frightened souls. We have shown courage and inspired peace and justice and balance. I was thinking a few weeks ago of what I could do to help the situation even more and I came up with an idea. I shared it with a friend or two (other drummers) and it took off.

There is a fund raiser scheduled for November 10. It is called "Drum Jam America". We need volunteers to help organize as well as work during the day of this event. We need entertainers willing to give a performance or two. If you feel strongly about continuing to support the relief efforts, please join with us in making this happen. I realize there is not much time, but in our eyes, continuing to keep the nation's people involved is very important. the memories of that dreadful day will sooner pass into history than the time it takes to remedy the loss.

The response has been amazing. The city of Redlands, the Red Cross and various other organizations are behind us now and it looks like this will be a wonderful event as well as prolong help for those in need, here in our own communities as well as in New York, Washington D.C. and Pennsylvania. I'm worried about this war and considered canceling, but I am looking at it as something that will place peace in minds that might be thinking about how war is good. I decided to continue with this project..

We need all kinds of support. So I am asking you too. I know you are busy people, I am as well, but this is an important cause that we can do something about, doing what we do. Make music and teach love and good will. Im not asking you to fly out here if you are not scheduled to, but if you are here in Southern California and can spend at least part of the day in Redlands, we would love to have you perform or maybe offer a mini "signing" where the proceeds can be donated. Also if you could spread the word and help me to spread the word, we need people to come out to this event too. I know you know so many people that are in the profession, perhaps they could perform? We have called the event "Drum Jam for America" but there is so much more to it! I am a hand percussionist and violinist. What a mix, eh? but I love what I do. I will be doing what I love, helping people to find peace within themselves, raising funds to help those in need, and banging on my drums! finally- This show of terrorism is not something that happened in a day or a few weeks... it took a great deal of time to become the great gaping wound that it is. It will not be healed in a few short days or weeks. I encourage you to pace yourself in the work that you do, that we all do. Thanks so much for reading my letter and considering this. I look forward to your reply. yours in peace, Susannah Faith, Rev., Spiritual Coach, drummer 909)335-9394 cell 909)709-9607 themuse@empirenet.com

Dear Bonnie, Just had the honor of seeing you play at the Historic Elsinore Theatre in Salem, Oregon for the NWEA, and wanted to thank you for making the effort to come all the way out here. Not to mention having to spend so much extra time at the airports to do it too. Just knowing that we were going to see you gave us something to look forward to this week and temporarily forget about all that has happened this week throughout the country/world. My husbands brother was in the pentagon when it was hit. He 'Thank God' was giving a breifing 3 corridores down from where it hit. - I also wanted to let you know that you sounded even more awesome than the other 3 times that I've come to see you and loved Cris & Danny too. Blessings for all you are! Peggy Brown

Bonnie - I think "Road Tested" is probably my all-time favorite live album. I recently got a dvd player and went looking for it on dvd. All I could find was "audio only" versions - no video!!! What's up with that? (It is available on VHS so I know it was recorded). I've seen several reviews of the dvd video... and several mentions that it was once available - but now out of print! Will it be re-released? It would be a crime if it isn't made available (again?) in dvd format. Great music!!!

The live version of "Love me like a man" is just amazing - and tunes like "Feeling of Falling" are almost seductive... You've just got to come through on the dvd thing!

Hi I was asked by CAF( Child Alert Foundation)http://www.ChildAlert.org to help spread the word about a boy who was the victom of a hit and run driver. Here is a clip of his story.

Eric, at the age of 10, was a victom of a hit and run driver and left with every bone in his body broken. He has a 68 degree bend in his spine, is paralyzed from his neck down. He has daily migrane headaches. To add heart ache to misery for his family, the insurance cancelled out on them.

The current van the family owns is old and not as reliable for the over 100 mile required trips to the hospital. Eric will be facing surgury to relieve pressure where his spine is restricting circulation of blood The doctors will try to straighten it with a series of rods, but even so, it's a dangerous proceedure. Please pray for Eric and his family. His family is loving and devoted to his care, but resources are limited. Help us to get them a new van!

You can read more about Eric at http://www.BrandiWard.com or e.mail her at Brandi@brandiWard.com for more information.Brandi is a 16 year old country singer trying to help this family out.Once you open the page look for a PURPLE button that say's HELP CHILDREN. Eric and his family live in Nashville Tenn. If you have a news letter please add this story to it and lets try and help this family out....

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

I saw Bonnie was arrested for protesting Boise Cacscade's practice of clear cutting forest. I would like you to know about Boise Cascade in Rumford, Maine. It is known as "Cancer Alley". Every family in the tri-town area has lost someone to cancer or has someone living with the disease.

In Boston's Childrens Hospital, most of the kids in the cancer ward are from the Rumford/ Peru, Maine area a.k.a. Cancer Valley (as reported on Chronicle-Channel 5 Boston).

It appears the residents know the paper company is responsible for contaminating the water supply, but they are afraid to sue. Boise Cascade employs most of the residents.

Boise Cascade is destroying human health as well as environmental health in more ways then we realize...

Bonnie, I was extremely disappointed to hear that you were arrested at the Boise Cascade Office Products building in Itasca, Illinois 7/25/01. Boise Cascade does not fit into the description as a quote: "National Disgrace" for environmental issues. On the contrary, they are an environmental concious company who owns their own land and replenishes their own trees two fold. Go pick on Georgia Pacific or other paper companies who leases property and doesn't replenish - do some research before you jump in and protest.. I was terribly disappointed, however - I do forgive you and encourage you to research your cause better next time!

Dearest Bonnie, Your magic music has been with me through the calm and storminess of life's tidings and I really treasure you. I'm glad to know you exist. We are of like mind. I too, am a musician(folk), who is deeply concerned about what we humans are doing to despoil our sacred planet and all her creatures. It hurts me so much sometimes, tears are my only solace. One thing that has helped me to channel my passion for protecting the earth is by writing earth-centered songs. In January I wrote a song called,"The Artic Wildlife Refuge," after I had been hearing much about the plans by corporate, small-interest groups to open up this pristine, last 5% of wilderness in Alaska to oil drilling. Ofcourse, according to many environmental groups and experts, this plan would devastate the area which is home to polar bears, 130,000 porcupine caribou, wolves, eagles.... Anyway, it really boils my blood. I was fortunate to be able to play the song to 300 concerned people in my Corvallis, Oregon community when a kind man named Ken Madsen came here from the Yukon to present a slide show presentation on the issue. I've also enjoyed playing the song at my little coffee shop performances. Now, as the issue heats up in Congress, I feel a strong calling to share the song with a vaster audience of American people to expand public awareness of the issue even more. Can you help me in any way? Do you have any ideas for me? Would you like to play in Corvallis,Oregon?! My vision is to promote, support a fund raiser to have as many people oppose this greedy oil drilling to one of our last remaining, intact wilderness areas left on the planet!!! Please contemplate what I've presented to you. Your prompt feedback would be immensely appreciated.

P.S. Would you like a copy of my song? My email address is: mabhanipoo@hotmail.com

A soul sister, Siobhan

Will you please help C.A.I.R. pass Assembly Bill 448 to legalize Industrial Hemp in California?

Last month, the California State Legislature introduced Assembly Bill 448 to allow for the production of Industrial Hemp in California for commercial purposes.

Converting to Industrial Hemp can save our forests from logging, our mountains from mining, our oceans from oil-drilling, our soil from eroding, and our air and water from being polluted.

The most versatile and environmentally-friendly renewable resource in the world, Industrial Hemp can produce completely clean energy fuel and is cheaper than petroleum or natural gas. It can also yield four times as much paper per acre as trees and building materials that are twice as strong as wood. And de-hulled hempseed is the most nutritious source of protein on the planet.

C.A.I.R., the Campaign for Agricultural and Industrial Renewal, is the organizational sponsor organization of AB448. CAIR has been working to legalize Industrial Hemp in California for the past four years. In 1998, CAIR sponsored a ballot initiative to legalize Industrial Hemp. In 1999, CAIR succeeded in getting the California State Assembly to adopt a resolution supporting Industrial Hemp. In 2000, CAIR got the California Democratic Party to add wording in its platform that supports the legalization of Industrial Hemp. More information is available at http://www.CAIR.net.

Please help CAIR support AB448 to legalize Industrial Hemp in California by e-mailing CAIR.Sam@att.net or by calling CAIR at (909) 653-3500. Thank you very much.

Hi, My name is Catherine and I'm a student at U of M. I am such a fan!!! My best friend and I love your music and totally respect the activist work you've done as well as the amazing example you offer for girls and women, both in music and in general. I was so excited to hear the statement you sent to be read at the SOA protest in Georgia this Novemeber. It was an awesome message, and the movement needs support from politically aware, active, and outspoken people like you. I think I would have shit a brick out of surprise and happiness if you had been there! In the way you present, represent, and reveal yourself through your music and work, I bet we would have alot to talk about, and as corny as this sounds, you are a true heroine, in a cool way, not in the stupid idealized sense. You have achieved something really magical and powerful in your music, you really get at the heart of so much stuff and I would guess you help alot of people this way, myself definitely included. Not to mention your absolutely amazing talent! But people probably tell you that all the time so I'll shut up. I wish you would tour near here!! If anyone reads this, I would be very interested in receiving more updated information about appearances, performances, or anything like that. My email address is ellingso@umich.edu Well, enough dorkiness, although its hard to write something like this without sounding like a big nerd. You're wonderful, keep up the great work! Catherine

Bonnie: My name is Alberto, I write from Spain. I love your music but there´s one song called "Can´t make you love me" that has such deep feeling and truth that will melt an iceberg ¡. Thanks for singing this song with such honesty ¡. You´re incredible. I´m a classical composer and that song is one of the best songs I ´ve heard in popular music. Your voice (and your person) are beautiful. Love your music. Question: how many times have your heard that? Keep up the good work. I'm a guitar player (I use the term losely I assure you) and I remember just learning at age 13 and trying to play along with your music. I thought you were the coolest chick I'd ever seen. Still do, only as an adult I have a different respect for you. God bless you.

Hallo Bonnie, You probably won't read this let alone answer it but I'll give it a go. Saw you 1999 supporting Clapton in Frankfurt/Germany. Your set was super although I had expected a bit more having waited for 26 years to hear you live. The reason was that most people were there to see Clapton and that during your set there was a lack of attention and interest in what you were doing (at least that is how I felt) with the result that the atmosphere wasn't what it should have been. By the way, Clapton is a great musician but he has absolutely NO stage presence, infact I found his attitude (or lack of it) towards the audience as almost insulting. Anyway, my question is, when are you coming back to Germany to play (hopefully topping the bill in your own right). I get loads of E-Mails telling me about your conerts in USA but what about us here in Europe!!! Would be nice to hear from you if you read my mail best regards Steve Martin (not the famous one) Stephen.Martin@sap.com

Dear Bonnie,

Quite a long time ago, back in 1989, waiting for a train in the center of London, I spotted one of my greatest female musical inspirations. Although I did not want to intrude, I felt the need to go over and thank you for being the incredible POSITIVE, fantastic influence that you are to many, many women out there. Riding the train north, I was humbled by your thoughtful intentions, as we discussed the mutli-cultural fabric of London and how it resembled," a human gumbo" and how we should all try to live that way. I never forgot that. It still to this day, inspires me.

You are a fantastic singer/songwriter/musician and guitarist! I can only say that any musical artist, in particular female, has you to thank, for the quality work that you have issued all of these years.

Thank you for being so warm-hearted and wonderful!!

Best regards and maybe I'll see you on the train again..

Lauren

Dear Bonnie- I really hope somehow you will receive this message and take time to read it. I know you're very busy & probably have heard these words many times over. Although, we've never met, I feel very connected to you. I understand as a celebrity fans often feel they "know" you. While your music is an extremly personal side of you I know it's not all of you. So, the part of you, as a fan, I see is an inspiration to me in so many ways. Of course, your music, you're beautiful phrasing both with vocals and guitar. I listen to your songs over and over- and try to match as many licks as possible. I've learned so much, from listening to you. One of the biggest lessons, is not to give up and to believe in yourself. I know you're road hasn't always been easy- it was a long time and a lot of bars before your grammies. I respect you for playing from the heart and singing with soul. I gave up on my singing for a quite a while & I lost a lot of time. I got back into music seriously about 4 years ago and have been working hard. I turn 40 in July and my birthday party will be my singing debut. I've hired some really great musicians to play with me. Naturally, many of the tunes will be ones I'm sure you'll recognize. I hope I will be able to do them justice. If you happen to be in or around Richmond, VA on July 29th- will be at the old James River Winery- down the street from Bogarts. I know you've been there, I've heard all the stories. Anyway, you would be very welcome! Thanks for helping me keep my dream alive- You're the greatest- All the best!!! with love Sharon Sullivan treverb@ix.netcom.com

Bonnie ; Thanks for inspiring Charles Brown to bring back his beautiful music for everyone to hear. His style of piano and singing and the generous way he shared it on stage was so thrilling to watch he brought tears to my eyes. I was lucky enough to meet him when he played Seattle a couple times and he spoke with such love of you. He looked up in the air and shook his head saying "She's an angel sent fromHeaven"Cool guy! Bonnie, Although only 22 years old, I have seen many concerts from Dave Matthews Band, to Eric Clapton, to Soungarden. Looking back, though, my experience at your concert, at the Marcus Ampatheater in WI was the most meaningful. I went mostly as a favor to my mom who really digs your music. Once there, however, I knew what she was raving about. Seeing you up there with Charles and Ruth Brown was really moving. You seemed to really care about what you were singing about, and everything had a real natural vibe. This was also a great bonding experience for my mom and I. Since that concert, my mom and I have seen your show again, and I have watched your Behind the Music on VH1. Needless to say, I was impressed with your dedication to human rights and the way you carry yourself. I don't mean to ramble on, and I'm not sure if you'll even get this. I just wanted to say, though, that your music really bridges generations, and your message of understanding is powerful. Finally, as a soon to be elementary educator, I am really interested in diversity and multiculturalism. I realize that the blues is often a common ground for people of all ages, ethnicities, etc. to groove on (as exhibited by your music, Wyclef's recent G&B project, etc.). I am preparing to present a power point presentation on diversity, and was wondering if you'd have any advice for students on relating to people of other cultures. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this,

I worked at the record store on campus -it was my first job at age 17. I am 47 now Yikes!!! I think your music is great and it has been an inspiration to me many a time.

My name is Debra. My mother was diagnosed with Breast Cancer six years ago. The impact that diagnosis has had on me was rather profound. I found myself suddenly thrown into the world of cancer and was faced with the possibility of loosing my mother. My mothers condition not only affected me but also everyone whose life she touched. It prompted me to begin thinking of many things I’d never considered before. I became aware of what a devastating disease Breast Cancer is and how it overwhelms you with a sense of vulnerability. As much as anything else, I was frustrated by my inability to do much to help my mother despite my strong desire to do so.

Ever since my mothers diagnosis, I’ve been searching for a way to make a difference and do something to help in the fight against Breast Cancer. I intended to try to do something to help raise money for research and something that would allow the families of those persons struck with Breast Cancer to contribute as well.

Since I started considering doing this project with my mother in mind, I just tried to think of her most defining characteristic or trait. She’s known for her southern style cooking. I’ve never met anyone who didn’t think her pecan pie or fried chicken was the best they’ve ever tasted. It just seemed logical to pursue a cookbook idea incorporating my mother’s southern cooking recipes. After talking with many family members and other survivors of Breast Cancer I’ve developed a different twist to the original cookbook idea. Rather than having the cookbook consist solely of my mother’s recipes, I thought why not get favorite recipes submitted by people whose lives have been touched in some way by Breast Cancer. This could include daughters, sons, husbands, grandchidren, uncles aunts, friends, neighbors or just about anyone. Those contributors could submit a recipie for possible inclusion in the cookbook along with a dedication for the individual who has, had, or died from Breast Cancer. This way the contributors could help by assisting in compiling some great recipies that would go into a cookbook where a portion of the proceeds are to be donated for Breast Cancer Research and the contributors of recipies could show their love and support for their family member or friend who is either battling Breast Cancer or who has survived Breast Cancer or they can memorialize those who have been lost to the disease.

Obviously all recipies submitted can’t be included in the first cookbook. For those that are not included, there will be a section in the book which will contain the dedications sent in with the recipies that weren’t selected, or they will be added to the next edition. I thought one of the best places to contact such people would be the internet. If you would like to participate, please send me an e-mail. I will then describe the format. My email address is: demer10@aol.com Sincerely,

Debra

Bonnie, This is not a music or fan email, but more of a personal introduction. I am Randy, a pro guitarist (club level, all styles of music) in Texas who finds you extremely attractive and sexy. I love your music and would love to get know you personally if you find you feel that way. I hear you are also recently single as I. I am not a whacko(?) or lovesick fan, and am very serious about this. I have admired you for years. I don't know any other way to reach you other than this site. I'm not sure whether we would click or not, but I've learned nothing ventured, nothing gained. I have learned through past relationships and experiences that someone with music in her soul may be able to relate to me than someone who's not involved. I am a very young 49, lefthanded Scorpio who is very sports and health minded. I love animals, children, gourmet food, movies/videos, and much more. I learned I am an intense, sensitive, caring, strong minded/willed (stubborn maybe...smile), loving, sensual, man. I love to turn fantasies into realities. I am not afraid to ask why or say that I don't like something. What I have lost, is an inspiration towards life. If you've ever had your heart hurt badly, you know what i mean. I am very proud of who I am, but I know I can be so much more. I feel the right person in my life, and me in hers would be the theraputic treatment I need. I would love to think that maybe we might share many of the same interests and passions in life. I have been on a quest for my soul mate and only have of this past year tried the personal ads. I've met some wonderful women, but there was always something missing between us, and they couldn't quite understand my life. I don't smoke, drink, and am anti drugs. Pretty boring huh??? Smile. But I do love to have fun and enjoy moments in life. Well, I feel I've said enough. If you feel you might like to know more about me, please feel free to write. I hope I'm not making a fool of myself and also hope this is not a very public BBS. I promise I have no interest in pursuing you as a business contact. This is a totally legitimate and sincere introduction. Your success means nothing to me other than it as a vehicle for me to look inside your heart and soul through your music. And I know I love the way you express yourself musically. If you would like to check me out more, you can see my web page and also see a picture of me at: http://members.aol.com/rsouthpaw

you can write me back at: wolfrandolph@aol.com

Thanks for reading, Randy

Dear Bonnie,

As I was driving to work this morning K-fog was playing one of your song's from a few year's ago, and like always for the past five year's or so I thought of Charles Brown. Why you ask? well I had the good fortune to run into Mr. Brown at the Oakland airport one afternoon and when I spotted him I told my wife (like a starstruck teen) Oh my god it's Charles Brown! and nobody recognized him but me, so my wife say's go talk to him, and I said I don't feel comfortable bothering celeb's. so, she goes over and talk's to him and told him I was a fan of his and he insisted I come talk to him, and what a sweet man he was. now, here's the part you will like, he was so proud that you bought him a couch with a bed in it for Christmas. He glowed when he spoke of you, thank you for being his friend. I understand your Father went to the University of Redlands, I was raised in Redlands, and I became a fan of yours while living there about 1974. Like you, I now reside in the Bay area. I'm glad for your well-deserved success, I was blown away by your first album.

Thanks, Sincerely Randy Ohle

We are a couple of Bonnie Raitt fans living out in Mound, MN, a place near and dear to your heart, we know. Loved your concert at the MN State Fair last summer with Keb Mo - I went with my girlfiends, but held up my cell phone until the battery ran out so my husband could hear you. Thanks for some really fantastic music over the years. We are looking forward to your next album. How about some more videos? Roadtested was super. If you ever need a place to escape and cruise Lk.
